It is right on the point of rocks with is great surf fishing. Siesta Key is the number one rated beach in the US... 941 349-4999

City Cafe is a great place for breakfast. Nostalgic & excellent southern food at good prices. Also, Jim & Nick's BBQ was good, but more pricey.

The new temp terminal is better than the old and the tajmahal terminal will be done Dec 2011. The county took over FBO Opps and for the better. They have a crew car and you can also sighn out the GPS with the crew car too so you can really explore. Town is VERY expansive so take the GPS. Oh my fav place to eat is "Raffertys" never had a bad meal. Mike is the "man" at the FBO he will take care of you. Cheap Jet A.

Hotels- KDCA - (WASHINGTON, DC) March,26,2011
Sheraton Suites Old Town Alexandria. One of the best hotels I gave ever stayed in. 3 miles from DCA, 5 miles to the Pentagon, and 8 miles from historic Washington. If you want to stay in a great area! This is it. If you are a corporate pilot flying into sounding areas.. Make the drive, its will worth it.

Hotels- KFLL - (FT LAUDERDALE, FL) February,19,2011
I am posting this under FLL even thought we flew into OPF for the Miami Boat Show. The Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina is a great hotel for a pilot or flight attendant layover. The crew rate was about $119 for us on a weekend. Lots of relaxation to be had by the pool or on the dock at the bar. Excellent (but pricey for a pilot salary, place to eat at the hotel with very good sushi and local sites. It was about :30 drive from OPF and looks to be about :15 from FLL. I would rate it 2 thumbs up if on the company card for crew member overnights. Looks like a couple of airlines put up their pilots and flight attendants here for overnights in FLL.

FBOs- KRDU - (RALEIGH, NC) February,19,2011
I had a couple of hours to kill here in RDU. I forgot about the general aviation terminal. It has a great pilots lounge that is unused (which is an understatement). It is a great place for flight crew members to relax. The snooze room in the pilot crew area is probably the best I have ever seen and looks like a nice hotel. The general aviation terminal is located directly between Tac Air and Landmark FBO and is a classic example of extreme waste of tax payer dollars. There is a restaurant on the second floor that is more than adequate for a quick bite. As a corporate pilot I wouldn't say I enjoy sitting in an FBO but the extra GA terminal does give a second option if your wait turns out to be longer than expected (never happens right?).

Hotels- KCHS - (CHARLESTON, SC) February,9,2011
aloft hotel by the W inc Charleston next to the airport was not a good place to stay for a good nights sleep. The walls were so thin you could here conversations and sneezing in the room next door, loud parking lot noise until late at night, and the European decor made the window shades about 3 inches too narrow on the windows to keep out the bright parking lot lights. I would rather stay in a good-o'l Hampton Inn next time. It looked cool but wasn't good for sleeping on a flight crew overnight...

Food- KCHS - (CHARLESTON, SC) February,8,2011
Jestine's Kitchen in CHS is great. Country Cookin' with sweet tea. About $20 pp with the best bread pudding dessert I have possibly ever had. 251 Meeting St Charleston SC 29401 - Downtown and about 15 min from the CHS International Airport. Pilots and Flight Attendants will not be disappointed on this overnight activity when you are bored...
