Food -- Lunch at High Cotton, Netzatys sandwichs,The Dock (on the lake),Lookout 49, Steves Marina cafe near the airport. Food -- Dinner at Jazzepi's in Biloxi. Seafood, steaks, service and home of the Dixie Mafia. Gooooood stuff. Sports -- Golf at The Oaks(20 mins west),Grand Bear(25 mins North),Mississippi National(30 mins East), or The Bridges(20 mins West). All public and good quality. Food -- Best Po-Boys...Bens Deli(cash only)...and Lil Rays Misc -- I have always had good luck at the Buea rolling the dice. good dealers for a non-vegas casino Misc -- there are casino's to visit, the beach, and a hooters that has some top notch ladies. KGTR GOLDEN TRIANGLE RGNL COLUMBUS MS Food -- Old Hickory Steakhouse - Best steak I have EVER had! It has been a while since I have been but I will never forget how good it is. Across the street from Holiday Inn (not great hotel) 1301 Highway 45 N (662) 328-9793. Old wooden chairs and crowded tables make this a laid back place KHKS HAWKINS FIELD JACKSON MS Misc -- As the owner of this site I usually frown about post saying there is nothing to do around airport but for Hawkins field I have nothing good to say as far as food or entertainment go. It looked generally unsafe and beyond "industrial". If anyone else has something please post and then flag this post because I may use JAN next time just for the food and hotels in Pearl. KJAN JACKSON INTERNATIONAL JACKSON MS Misc -- I always seem to find my way over to the harbor freight store - especially when I have a coupon. Only about 10 minutes and all the cheap tools you need. You can usually find a coupon over at www.harborfreight.com by getting on their email list. I got my free flashlight. Great store for pilots since we are so cheap. Sports -- Check out the Braves (Mississippi). www.mississippibraves.com They have a great stadium and a good time will be had by all at this minor league event. Crew car is only avail for 1 hour but if you are on an overnight and staying where most of the aiport hotels are you can walk to it - right beside the Bass Pro Shop. KMEI KEY FIELD MERIDIAN MS Misc -- talk to fighter pilots! Sports -- Golf at the Naval Air Station is cheep ()- 25 minute drive - and is probably the best public course nearby. Food -- Nick & Al's on 19 North, Good fast Italian. Food -- Village Kitchen on 19 North, good southern food buffet. Food -- Jean's downtown, home cooked southern food. Food -- Food--Deli on Fifth downtown, great sandwiches and soups, to die for deserts. Food -- Go to the Cresent City Grill! Excellent cajun food and great service. Decent price too. Food -- courtesy car Misc -- stay at the holiday inn. they have a free happy hour, all beer is free, plus two mixed drinks. Food -- dont eat at cresant city grill worst service i've ever experienced. KOLV OLIVE BRANCH OLIVE BRANCH MS Food -- Neely's bbq KSTF GEORGE M BRYAN STARKVILLE MS Food -- Sweet Peppers Deli - Left out of the parking lot and left at the light. Great food! KTVR VICKSBURG TALLULAH RGNL VICKSBURG MS Misc -- good place to venture in to vicksburg and lose some gambling money. There is a heavenly ham here on exit C I believe. |
